BOLINGBROOK – Bolingbrook and Romeoville 4-H’ers were honored Aug. 12 at the Illinois State Fair junior exhibit judging in Springfield.

Exhibit judging includes the 4-H general project categories, and the Award of Excellence is given to youth whose county project earned them a trip to the Illinois State Fair. At the discretion of the judges, Superior Awards may be given to youth as special recognition for outstanding projects.

Romeoville resident Kurt Hillebrand and Bolingbrook resident Ashley Printz earned Superior Honors in Aerospace Display and Child Development II, respectively, and Romeoville resident Rachel Hillebrand took home an Award of Excellence in the Original Works category.

The 4-H program is run by the United States Department of Agriculture, developed in rural areas to help young people become productive citizens by instructing them in useful skills, community service, and personal development.
