McAsey news release: Property tax assessment presentation planned
The following is a news release from state Rep. Emily McAsey, D-Romeoville:
To provide residents with the latest information on the assessment process and exemptions that may lower property tax bills, state Rep. Emily McAsey is partnering with Will County Supervisor of Assessments Rhonda Novak to present Understanding Your Property Tax Bill which will be held on Thursday, August 29 at 6 p.m. at the Fountaindale Public Library, 300 W. Briarcliff Rd., Bolingbrook.
“Understanding your property tax bill can be difficult,” McAsey said. “I am partnering with the Supervisor of Assessments to help residents navigate the property tax bill process. Residents will also learn more about the exemptions available to them to help lower their property tax bill.”
The presentation by the Office of the Supervisor of Assessments will include information about assessed valuations of property and helpful tax exemptions like the senior citizens’ assessment freeze, general homestead exemption, disabled veterans’ homestead exemption, and disabled persons’ exemption.
