Lemont resident honored for Special Olympics wins

LEMONT – During its Aug. 20 meeting, the Lemont Park District Board of Commissioners congratulated Michaela Tauer of Lemont for winning gold medals at Illinois' Special Olympics Summer Games.

Michaela, 14, earned gold in the 50 meter run and the softball throw. She is a member of the Tri County Special Recreation Association.

Michaela recently started her freshman year at Lemont High School.
