Villa Park student wins award for playwright contest

VILLA PARK – Jack Corkery, a student at Willowbrook High School, was selected as one of six winners in a play writing competition sponsored by Eureka College.

For this competition, high school students from across Illinois were invited to prepare 10-minute, unpublished, unproduced plays. Corkery won an award for his play, "Life Among the Still Lives."

The six winners' plays will be performed by Eureka College students at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22 and 23 at the Pritchard Theater at Eureka College. Admission is free.
