Oakbrook Terrace city manager accepts top cop position in Westchester

OAKBROOK TERRACE – The Village of Westchester announced that John M. Carpino has been appointed as the new police chief.

Carpino is the current city manager for Oakbrook Terrace and will be sworn-in at the Aug. 27 Board of Trustees meeting. He will begin his official duties as police chief on Sept. 1.

He previously served as a member of the Oakbrook Terrace Police Department, eventually reaching the rank of deputy chief, as police chief in Willow Springs, acting police chief in Oak Brook and police chief/public safety coordinator for the Village of Worth.
