LISLE – The Lisle community lost a veteran business this month with the closing of Granny's restaurant, 5515 Main St.

The breakfast diner's sign states "Thanks for 30 great years" but does not indicate a reason for closing. The business opened in 1985, according to records.

Lisle village officials could not speak to the reason for the closing either.

"We do not know the circumstances pertaining to the closing of that restaurant – only what the sign says," Catherine Schuster, a spokesperson for the village, stated in an email to the Reporter.

The phone at Granny's is disconnected and the owner could not be reached for comment.
