HINSDALE – The Chicago Chapter of the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation is reaching out to the community to raise awareness, as well as support those who are fighting mitochondrial disease through an Energy for Life Walkathon set for Sept. 15.

Affected individuals, families, friends, coworkers and supporters will gather to walk and raise funds for those who face a daily battle with mitochondrial disease.

This year’s walkathon will take place at the Katherine Legge Memorial Park, 5901 County Line Road, Hinsdale.

The Energy for Life Walkathon will begin with registration at 9 a.m and kicks off, rain or shine, at 10 a.m. All proceeds raised from the walk will help the UMDF provide support, education and research towards a cure for mitochondrial disease.

Groups or individuals interested in participating can register at energyforlifewalk.org/chicago or by calling 888-317-UMDF
