Glenbard East's Illinois State recruit York wants playoff birth
LOMBARD – Glenbard East senior safety Javon York is committed to play for Illinois State next fall. York was voted by his teammates as one of four captains on the Rams and could see the field more than anyone else on the team. Coach John Walters said York is likely to be the only Ram to play both ways. In addition to safety, he could be used at linebacker, running back and wide receiver.
Santaromita: As a potential two-way player, do you prefer offense or defense?
York: Last season I played strong safety and I’m a returning starter in that position. Who knows with running back. I don’t really know if I'm actually going to start yet, but I’ve played running back over the years. I don’t really prefer either one, but I love both. I’m going to strive to start in both.”
