Glendale Heights police officer dies

GLENDALE HEIGHTS – Former Glendale Heights police officer Donald Darby died Aug. 13, according to a news release from the Glendale Heights Police Department.

Darby served Glendale Heights for 14 years as a patrol officer, canine officer and DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group agent, the release said.

Officers fondly recall Darby's humor, drive and dedication, according to the release.

He was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year and leaves behind a wife and two children, the release said.
