Cicero police search for suspect in two armed robberies

CICERO – Cicero police investgators are searching for a man who may have robbed the same restaurant on Aug. 8 and Aug. 12.

On Aug. 12, a man armed with a handgun entered the Steak ‘n Egger Restaurant, 5601 W. Roosevelt Road, at 2:52 a.m., displayed a gun and ordered a cashier to hand over all the cash from the register.

Police said the man then fled on foot west on Roosevelt Road with an undetermined amount of cash.

The restaurant had also been robbed just before 11 p.m. on Aug. 8.

Police said security photos from both robberies suggest the suspect may be the same man.
