LISLE – They came, they walked, they smiled, they cried, they fought.
Nearly 200 participants took part in the fourth annual Lisle Relay For Life of I-88 Corporate Friday into Saturday, raising more than $52,677 for the American Cancer Society, according to the Relay For Life website, although final totals still were being calculated Tuesday.
Seventeen teams participated in the relay, hosted at 2200 Cabot Drive, just north of Interstate 88.
Relay For Life raises money for cancer research and cancer patients. The event spreads cancer awareness, celebrates the lives of survivors, remembers those who lost their lives to cancer and unite a community in the fight against cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.
