Glenbard High School District 87 Superintendent David Larson was recently recognized as an honorary board member of DuPage ACT-SO at the organization's sixth annual Community Leaders Breakfast Aug. 9.
ACT-SO, or the Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics, provides students with career exploration opportunities involving mentorships in 26 subject areas. Students complete projects and compete in competitions at the local, regional and national levels.
Glenbard D-87 students regularly participate in ACT-SO, which is affiliated with the DuPage County Branch of the NAACP. It is sponsored by the College of DuPage and the DuPage Regional Office of Education.
