Oak Brook Police Department looks to gain accreditation, public comment welcome
OAK BROOK – A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will examine all aspects of the Oak Brook Police Department policy and procedures, management, operations and support services Aug. 18, according to a news release.
Verification by the team that the Oak Brook Police Department meets the commission's standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation – a recognition of public safety professional excellence, according to the release.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session at 6 p.m. Aug. 20. The session will be conducted in the West Wing Training Room located at 1200 Oak Brook Road.
