Lombard's Bauer named 'Most Dedicated' for work as blood drive coordinator
LOMBARD – This week, the Illinois Coalition of Community Blood Drive Centers announced that Carol Bauer, executive coordinator for the Village of Lombard and organizer of the village's quarterly blood drives, was named "Most Dedicated" blood drive coordinator in Illinois.
Bauer has served with the village for 47 years and began organizing community blood drives with Heartland Blood Centers in 1988. Since then, she has helped collect more than 10,981 units of blood.
"I'm beyond thrilled to receive the 'Most Dedicated' award," she said. "The Village of Lombard's blood drives continue to be successful because of the dedication of the community to give back. I hope to keep growing our success in the future."
