LISLE – Students and adults have an opportunity to see what the Lisle Public Library has to offer for educational purposes in an annual daylong event.

The “Ready, Set, Go!” exposition will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 17 at the library, 777 Front St. The expo gives students and adults a chance to sample the library’s free online educational and job-related resources and services, according to a news release.

“People will be able to see hands-on demonstrations of online resources and talk to members of the community for career development and education,” said Tari Marshall, Communications Coordinator of the Lisle Library District.

This will be the fourth year of the expo, and library officials are expecting more than 200 people to attend, Marshall said. The expo includes a specialist from Illinois’ Bright Start college savings program, a College of DuPage adult admission representative and backpack fittings from Williams Chiropractic Center from noon to 4 p.m.

Local businesses will also be providing prizes for the event. Fifty local businesses are participating in the program.

“[The expo] shows resources that the library has to offer besides books,” Marshall added.
