DuPage Sheriff’s Department to participate in National Night Out
OAKBROOK TERRACE – Members of the DuPage County Sheriff's Department and other local municipalities will be participating in the 30th annual National Night Out community celebration at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Park, 1S325 Ardmore Ave., Oakbrook Terrace.
National Night Out is an annual community event that connects residents to their local law enforcement officers with the goal of building safer, stronger neighborhoods.
Sheriff's deputies and local police and fire departments will host the Touch a Truck event with a customized sheriff's vehicle and other municipal vehicles beginning at 6 p.m. There will also be music, water activities, a bounce house and a movie in the park starting at 8:45 p.m.
“National Night Out is a great opportunity for those of us in law enforcement to get out and spend time with the people we serve and to join together with them to enhance crime and drug prevention awareness and to let them know about the many services the Sheriff’s Office provides,” Sheriff John Zaruba said in a news release.
Residents of DuPage County are invited to join with thousands of communities nationwide for National Night Out. More than 15,700 communities, from all 50 states, with more than 37.5 million people nationwide are expected to participate in this event.
