Hinsdale police to host self-defense class for high school, college females

HINSDALE – The Hinsdale Police Department will present a situational awareness and self-defense class designed for female high school and college students.

This 2.5-hour class will address awareness, alertness, preparation and self-defense techniques that will help in several situations, according to a news release.

Students will spend half of the time in the classroom and the other half learning self-defense techniques, practicing and then being put in a controlled situation where they will use the techniques.

The class will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hinsdale Police Department, 121 Symonds Drive. Space is limited and participants must register in advance.
