Crash with injuries closes Route 53 near Glen Ellyn for an hour during Wednesday rush hour

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at about 6:50 a.m. Wednesday on Route 53 between Butterfield Road and Park Boulevard in unincorporated Glen Ellyn, according to a DuPage County Sheriff's news release.

The two people, whose names have not been released, were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for minor injuries, the release said.

Route 53 was closed from Butterfield Road to Park Boulevard for about an hour while sheriff’s deputies investigated. The roadway is now open.
