VILLA PARK – Two Villa Park teens were charged with burglary Monday after allegedly taking four laptop computers from North School over the weekend.

At 9:35 p.m. Sunday, Villa Park officers responded to a report that juveniles were on the roof of North School, 150 W. Sunset Ave. When officers arrived, the juveniles jumped from the roof and ran from the area.

During a search of the school, police learned that the juveniles had entered the school through a roof hatch and four laptop computers were missing from the school.

Police reviewed surveillance videos from the school and identified the suspects involved. At 4:41 p.m. Monday, officers found one of the suspects walking near Plymouth Street and Chatham Avenues. The suspect ran from police but was captured about three blocks away. Officers arrested the second suspect at his home in the 500 block of North Ardmore Avenue.

Both juveniles are 15 years old and were charged with burglary; the first was also charged with resisting a peace officer. They were taken to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center.
