Retired Clarendon Hills fire captain dies, wake Tuesday

CLARENDON HILLS – Dan Heidenreich, retired Clarendon Hills Fire Protection District captain, died Sunday of natural causes, according to a news release from the Tri-State Fire Protection District.

He was 87.

The wake will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien, and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to the funeral home's website.

A firefighters walk through will also take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
