Jewelry stolen from Lemont home in burglary

LEMONT – An unknown offender forced entry into a residence in the 0-50 block of Meagan Lane, Lemont, and took $8,035 in jewelry, according to a Lemont Police Department report.

Police received a complaint about suspicious circumstance at 2:49 p.m. July 23. The incident has been classified as a residential burglary, the report said.

According to the report, a witness described the suspect as a short, heavyset hispanic male with a mustache. The man reportedly stands 5 feet 2 inches in height, weighs 240 pounds and was wearing gray shorts and a gray shirt.
