Dupage Township to host Tools for Schools program Aug. 8

BOLINGBROOK – DuPage Township is calling for support from local residents and businesses to sponsor the upcoming Tools for School program, which runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 8 at the DuPage Township Building, 241 Canterbury Lane.

The annual Tools for School fundraiser serves 750 underprivileged students with back-to-school supplies such as pens and pencils, backpacks, and art supplies. The items will be handed out from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 8 on a first come, first served basis.

Local residents can support the cause by making monetary donattions, sponsoring the event or donating school supplies. Sponsorships range from $25, to $75, $150 or a personalized donation.

Those interested in donating school supplies can drop off items in the bin located outside the Bolingbrook Village Clerk's office 375 W. Birarcliff Road, by noon Aug. 5.

On the day of the Tools for Schools event, the Fountaindale Public Library Bookmobile and Will County Dental Bus will be on-hand to provide patrons with reading material and free dental screenings. Local Paul Mitchell stylists will also be present to give out complementary haircuts.

Free hotdogs and refreshments will be served throughout the event.
