BOLINGBROOK – Tibbott Elementary School will hold a “Meet and Greet Open House” for 2013-14 students and their families from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14.

Parents will be able to see their child’s classrooms, visit with teachers and administrators and receive printed curriculum materials, school routines and schedules.

Also on hand will be Tibbott PTO Board members as well as representatives of such groups as the Fountaindale Library, Bolingbrook Park District, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

“This is a great way to minimize first-day jitters and all the confusion that is inevitable on the first day of school,” said Principal Ana Wilson “Plus parents will be able to carry on casual conversations with their child’s teachers and resource and support personnel.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring school supplies to the open house which replaces the school’s traditional curriculum night. Third through fifth graders will be able to purchase assignment notebooks for $5.

Registration for the 2013-14 school year will not be available at the open house. Parents must register either by mail or at the school’s Aug. 8 Back-To-School registration day.
