Villa Park teen charged with robbery after allegedly holding 14-year-old at gunpoint

VILLA PARK – A 17-year-old Villa Park male is being charged as an adult with robbery after an incident involving a 14-year-old male on July 26.

Villa Park police officers were dispatched at 12:39 p.m. to the area of Ardmore Avenue and Park Boulevard following a report that the 14-year-old had been robbed at gunpoint by a male black suspect, according to a police report.

According to the report, after receiving a detailed description from the victim, an officer located the suspect at 1:45 p.m. walking in the 300 block of North Ardmore Avenue. The suspect fled and was taken into custody in the 300 block of North Princeton Ave.

Police located the stolen property – an iPhone, pocket knife and $10 – hidden in a nearby grill, the report said.

The suspect will be transported to the DuPage County Jail to await a bond court hearing.
