The new, more inviting windows at Helping Hand Thrift Store in Brookfield after fire gutted the store in April.

Diane Aurich, an art teacher in Helping Hand Center’s Adult Day Program, partnered with an art therapist at Community Support Services to give boarded up windows at Helping Hand Thrift Shop, 3726 Grand Blvd., a new, more welcome look after fire in April severely damaged the store.

Together, they and a group of adults with developmental disabilities who are a part of their art programs, turned the boarded up windows into a beautiful canvas.
