Mills: Fountaindale's Studio 300 nearly ready again

After spending the summer on our third floor in the Quiet Reading Room, Studio 300 will be back home on the lower level in September.

We have spent the summer rebuilding Studio 300, and all of us at the library are happy our studio will be back where the sound and video studios live so it is easier for you, our patrons, to create the stories you want to tell for yourself, your family, your business and your community.

Once we move back into our space on the lower level, we will be able to offer six sound studios, two video studios and three group collaboration rooms with high-tech equipment to share your projects with folks sitting around the table or sitting across the country.

We also will have 18 iMacs with the latest and greatest software to help you polish and finesse your story and, most importantly, we will have our wonderful, talented Studio 300 staff ready to assist you.

Before Studio 300 moves back to the lower level, we will have our grand finale for our Summer Reading Program.

The ice cream social will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. It’s a free event for the family.

We will have ice cream, music, games, a MOPS (puppet show) performance, an inflatable slide, a climbing wall and a trackless train provided by the Bolingbrook Park District, tasty food from Nancy’s Pizza and bd’s Mongolian Grill and a dunk tank to dunk me!

Come by and join us for some ice cream and fun.

Paul Mills is executive director of the Fountaindale Public Library
