Cops: Bones found Tuesday in Bolingbrook confirmed as animal remains

BOLINGBROOK – Police have confirmed that skeletal remains found Tuesday near the Bolingbrook and Romeoville border are animal bones.

On Tuesday morning, a resident called the the Bolingbrook Police Department, notifying officers that bones were found in an industrial area off Veterans Parkway in Bolingbrook, according to police.

Police examined the remains and confirmed Thursday morning that the bones had belonged to an animal and are not human remains, Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa said.
