Riverside police issue notice for garage sale scammers

RIVERSIDE – Two men have been going to garage sales in Riverside with counterfeit $20 bills and buying cheap items to receive change in legitimate money, Riverside police announced in a news release today.

Police issued a notice after receiving complaints that two men between 20 and 30 years old, driving a bright red Nissan have allegedly being scamming residents who are having garage sales. 

Residents are encouraged to contact police at 708-447-2127 for more information or to make a report.
