Wheaton Rotary Club donates 1,200 backpacks to Humanitarian Service Project

More than a thousand children throughout DuPage County will be able to go to school with a new backpack this fall due to the Rotary Club of Wheaton and Glen Ellyn's Humanitarian Service Project, according to an HSP news release.

The Rotary Club collected enough donations to purchase 1,200 backpacks through its annual Christmas Inn fundraiser and support from community members, the release said. The backpacks were given to HSP's School Supply Project, which collects pens, pencils, notebooks and other supplies for students. The project is part of HSP's larger mission to help impoverished children, seniors and family.
