ELMHURST – A Chicago radio host will speak at Elmhurst College next month about Illinois politics.

Dan Proft co-hosts a morning radio talk show on WLS-AM in Chicago. A Republican candidate for governor in 2010, he's considering running for the position again next year.

Proft is also a senior fellow at the Illinois Policy Institute, a free-market think tank in Chicago, and works with nonprofits that benefit military families and disadvantaged Chicago children.

His talk titled "Illinois Isn't Broken. It's Fixed," is part of the college's ongoing speaker series about the challenges facing Illinois. Proft's talk is free and open to the public. It begins at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 in the Founders Lounge of the Frick Center, 190 South Prospect Ave.
