Published: Thursday, July 25, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

ELMHURST – Republic Services will require Elmhurst resident to use the garbage toters they provided.

As part of the five-year agreement the city made with the waste company, automated trucks will cut down the cost of refuse and recycling collection. Until now, Republic Services has been collecting waste from most receptacles placed on the curb.

Beginning July 31, the company will make the switch to automated collection vehicles which work with the provided trash and recycling toters.

Residents who have not received the proper toter, or who have questions can email newtoter@republicservices.com or call 708-498-5292.
