LOMBARD – Police are still investigating what caused a motorcycle crash that left a Lombard man dead early Monday morning.

The driver, a 24-year-old Lombard man and his passenger, a Naperville woman, were both transported to an area hospital where the driver was pronounced dead. The passenger is still being treated, but is expected to recover, Lombard police said.

Police believe the driver lost control of the motorcycle before hitting a curb and a tree at 1:02 a.m. at Collen Drive and South Elizabeth Street. Police said they are unsure what caused him to lose control.

No other vehicles were involved and the investigation is ongoing.
