Elmhurst Cougar Blue 14U ends season with tournament title

The Elmhurst Cougar Blue 14U baseball team finished its season by winning the St. Louis Summer Slam on July 14.

The Cougars went 4-1 over the weekend to once again take home the championship trophy. They cruised to a 4-0 victory over the Redbirds on Friday, July 12. The Cougars lost their first game on Saturday to the Breese Heat by a score of 8-6 before bouncing back to defeat the Salem Tigers 9-4.

Next, the Cougars defeated the St. Louis Hawks 8-5. In the final, they overcame a seven-run deficit against the Hawks to win the championship game 10-9.

This was the second championship trophy earned by the team this year, which also won the WSBL American League green division and finished the season with an overall record of 36-14.
