Elderly Elmhurst couple reported missing

ELMHURST – Police are attempting to locate an elderly couple who have been missing since Friday morning, according to a news release from the Elmhurst Police Department.

Elmhurst residents Vernon Schweisthal, 89, and Elaine Schweisthal, 85, were last seen at 10 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of South York Street.

The couple left their home Friday to meet friends for lunch in Mount Prospect, but never arrived.

Family have since reported them to be missing.

Vernon is 5-foot-11-inches tall, weighs 200 pounds and has gray hair and blue eyes, one of which is glass.

Elaine is 5-foot-7-inches tall, weighs 165 pounds and has red hair and blue eyes. She suffers from dementia.

The Schweisthals are believed to be driving a gray 2001 Toyota Camry. The car has Illinois license plates, the number of which is KYY 986.

Anyone with information regarding the couple and their location is asked to call the Elmhurst Police Department at 630-530-3050.
