BOLINGBROOK – The Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce will host the fifth annual Taste of Bolingbrook on Thursday at the Promenade Bolingbrook.

Featuring a dozen local food vendors, an array of children’s activities, prize giveaways and raffles and a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young cover band, the taste is free and offers something for resident foodies and attendees of all ages.

For the first time in its five-year history, the Chamber will relocate the Taste of Bolingbrook from the village town center to the Promenade Bolingbrook. Chamber President and CEO Michael Carpanzano said the relocation will provide residents and vendors more room and amenities.

“We decided to move it to the Promenade Bolingbrook because of the wide range of resources that the Promenade offers,” Carpanzano said. “People and vendors can spread out a little more, all the surrounding streets will be closed, and residents can even do some shopping at the many Promenade stores.”

Carpanzano said 12 Bolingbrook food vendors will offer cuisines featuring smaller, “taste” plates beginning at $3, as well as larger, signature entrees.

BD Mongolian Grill, Gordon Biersch, Ashbury’s, Chick-fil-A, Mrs. T’s Pizza, Fannie May, Fatty Magoos, McQ’s, Coop’s Den, Nancy’s Pizza, Noodles Pho U and IKEA will host food vendor tents at Thursday’s Taste.

For residents with children or people who prefer crafts and artisan goods, the Chamber and promenade will host daylong activities.

In addition to the Taste, the Promenade Bolingbrook will host its weekly Market Thursdays – a farmers market with everything from fresh produce and baked goods to plant vendors and handmade items.

From 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, the Taste of Bolingbrook Kids’ Zone will include an inflatable jumping house, Illinois Aviation Ground Bound ride, Bolingbrook Fire Department safety house, a child ID kit booth, a magician, DJ and an area for crafts.

Carpanzano emphasized the importance of creating a family environment.

“We have made a concerted effort to create something for the entire family,” Carpanzano said. “Whether or not they are food fanatics, there will be free family fun the entire day. It is a great chance for families to come out and enjoy the Promenade.”
