WHEATON – The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (MSHV) received a $444,000 grant from the Veterans Affairs department, according to a news release from the shelter.

The VA recently awarded nearly $300 million in grants as part of its Supportive Services for Veteran Families program. The money was dispersed to private nonprofit organizations and consumer cooperatives that provide services to low-income veteran families, according to the release.

MSHV offers a range of benefits, including housing, to veterans and their families in DuPage County. Those interested in making a donation, volunteering or learning more about the shelter can visit www.helpaveteran.org or call 630-871-VETS (8387).
