Bolingbrook Park District debuts new website

BOLINGBROOK – The Bolingbrook Park District recently redesigned its website featuring both enhanced functionality and a new layout.

New website features were developed to be more user-friendsly, incorporating helpful feedback received through e-mails, interviews and iPad program surveys, according to Bolingbrook Park District Superintendent of Marketing and Customer Care Kim Smith.

“Website traffic continues to show solid growth and we want to take advantage of that,” Smith said. “More people are looking for our programs and information online, and we want to deliver an experience that meets their needs."

New features designed to help address those needs include an searchable program listing, calendar displays by specific areas and integrated social media sharing and interaction.

Consistent colors, fonts and backgrounds promote readability and usability, while navigation has been improved and now includes an “I Want To” tab for users who know what they’re looking for.

Designed to provide easier access to information the website now includes the new events calendars, an enhanced live search function, interactive Google maps pinpointing parks and facilities, and new photo galleries and social media links and tags.

“Our primary goal is to present accurate information in an easy-to-find manner,” Smith said. “We welcome feedback from our patrons as they interact with the site.”
