Bail set at $1 million for one of two men accused in Woodridge carjacking
WOODRIDGE – Bond was set at $1 million Thursday for one of two men accused in a carjacking in Woodridge last May, according to a media report.
Landon Brittan, 31, faces charges of aggravated vehicular hijacking, vehicular hijacking and obstructing justice.
Brittain's co-defendant, Michael Buhrman, formerly of Coal City, has been missing since December, but in May was convicted in asbentia to 40 years.
Brittain was reportedly apprehended in Venezuela recently, the report states.
On May 9, 2012, a masked Buhrman approached his victim as she sat in her parked car in a Woodridge parking lot. Buhrman then pointed a loaded .45 caliber handgun at the victim's head and ordered her out of the car.
Prosecutors did not disclose Brittain's role in the alleged crime, but said he implicated himself, the report states.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Buhrman is encouraged to contact the Woodridge Police Department or the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office.
