No injuries in Downers Grove house fire Wednesday

DOWNERS GROVE – No firefighters or residents were injured in a house fire early Wednesday morning in the 4500 block of Middaugh Avenue.

The Downers Grove Fire Department responded to a call for a residential fire at the home at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, and upon arrival they found smoke and flames coming from the building, according to the fire department.

Firefighters entered the home and extinguished the fire by 6:50 a.m.

The fire caused structural damage to the home and the family was not able to move back in. Damage was estimated at $300,000.

Fire departments from Westmont, Lisle-Woodridge and Oak Brook assisted.
