Bolingbrook's Nicola Colucy dual titleist at NBTA state championships

Colucy will be featured twirler for Eastern Illinois University marching band this fall

BOLINGBROOK - Nicola Colucy earned first place in two-baton and X-strut at the National Baton Twirling Association state championships July 13 in Zion.

In addition to winning the pair of first place finishes, the 2013 Bolingbrook High School graduate and resident also placed second in the solo competition.

Colucy is preparing to compete in the Junior Olympic Games in August, where she qualified for eight individual events and four events with her Westernettes team from Addison. In the fall, she will be the featured twirler for the Eastern Illinois University's marching band when it performs to sporting events.
