Blackhawks fans await Stanley Cup appearance in Bolingbrook
BOLINGBROOK – The Stanley Cup is coming to the Bolingbrook Golf Club from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Chicago Blackhawks Senior Director of Team Services Tony Ommen – a Bolingbrook resident – will celebrate his day with the Stanley Cup by showcasing it at the Bolingbrook Golf Club and hosting a two-hour event in which residents can have their picture taken with Lord Stanley's coveted trophy.
The Cup will be on a stage in the golf club's Reagan Grand Ballroom and a professional photographer will be on-hand take photos for $20. The pictures will be available online after the event.
Attendees will be able to take free, personal pictures from the side of the stage, but all photos taken from directly in front of the stage must be purchased from the professional photographer.
All of the generated proceeds will go to local charities St. Baldrick's and Heart Haven Outreach (H2O).
Ommen, who just completed his 14th year with the Blackhawks organization, brought the cup to the Bolingbrook Golf Club in 2010 after the team won its first championship in 49 years.
Residents are advised to arrive early that day, as about 3,000 people attended the 2010 event, according to Bolingbrook Golf Club General Manager Randy Farber. Doors will close at 1:45 p.m.
