Sophomore setter a leader for Meteors during 2013 season

CHICAGO - De La Salle Institute had three boys volleyball players honored for their play during the 2013 season.

Sophomore setter Benjamin Colletti of Willowbrook was named to the Chicago Catholic League White all-conference team, joining senior teammates Frank Scalise and Justin Earls on the team. Colletti led the Meteors with 369 assists and also tallied 22 aces and helped the team go 6-2 in CCL White play this spring.

De La Salle coach Michael Dieter of Brookfield received the 2013 Tony Lawless Award as the Catholic League’s Coach of the Year in boys volleyball. In his three seasons at the helm, Dieter has guided the Meteors to a 19-5 mark in the CCL White and two conference titles.
