West Suburban Humane Society to offer volunteer camp to groom future shelter volunteers

DOWNERS GROVE – The West Suburban Humane Society will offer an inaugural week-long, half-day Junior Volunteer Camp program for children ages 9 to 12.

Staff will teach children about cats and dogs with hands-on activities, crafts and games to impart the importance of shelters and shelter animals.

Activities during the week will include Pet Care 101, Overpopulation Charts, Dog Behaviors, Cat Care, The Puppy Mill Project, Animal Play Time and others.

The camp is currently a capacity, but there is a waitlist for interested participants.

The fee is $75 and includes snacks, a water bottle and T-shirt.
