Educational 'build-mobile' to host two workshops for children in Downers Grove Sunday

DOWNERS GROVE – SparkTruck, an "educational build-mobile," will stop in Downers Grove this Sunday to host two free hands-on workshops.

SparkTruck is a project started by Stanford University students who were curious about education and technology.

The SparkTruck is traveling around the country presenting workshops to kids.

To register your child, email membership@dgfrog.org. Organizers said Tuesday that few spots remained.

The SparkTruck crew will present two workshops: "Vibrobots" for children aged 8-12 and a Lego robotics session for children aged 12-15.

Participants can sign up to attend one of the workshops for free.

"Vibrobots" is 90 minutes long and start at 11 a.m.

The Lego robotics session is two hours long and begins at 1:30 p.m.

Both will take place in the North High School parking lot on Saratoga Avenue.

The event is hosted by the Downers Grove Friends of the Gifted, Village of Downers Grove and Downers Grove Community School District 99.
