Hit and run
A woman who said her vehicle was struck by a black car in the 800 block of Hillgrove Avenue followed the car to Ogden Avenue, where she came up to two vehicles that looked like the one that hit her car. She recorded the license plate of one vehicle but wasn’t certain it was the one that hit her. The incident occurred at 7:50 p.m. July 11.
Solicitor makes phone threat
A resident hung up on a solicitor trying to sell seal coating before the solicitor called back and threatened the person, who reported it to police at 6:17 p.m. July 10.
Bike thief caught
Damion Stapleton, 42, of an unknown address, was arrested after police observed him steal a bike from outside the Stone Avenue Station and ride eastbound on Hillgrove Avenue at 8:05 a.m. July 8.
Bike rider threatens
A man on a bike told a woman that he was going to run her over and then rode his bike toward the woman and her dog before leaving the area in the 400 block of Cossitt Avenue at 10:53 p.m. July 7, the woman reported.
Neighbor cuts down fence and rose bushes
A man who lives in the 1000 block of Madison Avenue said his neighbor was cutting down his fence and rose bushes and refused to stop. Police advised the neighbors to have a survey done, as both claimed the fence and bushes as their own property.
Gang-related graffiti was found behind a business in the 500 block of La Grange Road at 8:12 a.m. July 4.
Minors in possession of alcohol
Emma M. Pasquinell, 19, of the 4300 block of Hampton Avenue, and Henry L. Wilson, 20, of the 1300 block of Walnut Street, were cited for possessing alcohol as minors at 3:11 a.m. July 7 at Hillgrove and Clausen Avenues.
Flower pots and for sale sign damaged
Two flower pots and a for sale sign were damaged in the 4000 block of Grand Avenue at 2:11 p.m. July 3.
Pearl Vision burglarized
Police responded to a burglar alarm at 3:34 a.m. July 1 and found that the front glass door at Pearl Vision, 5501 W. Plainfield Road, was broken and out of its frame. They noticed that the contents of a Coach and Ray Ban display were missing. The owner could not initially estimate the amount stolen from the store.
Driver arrested twice in one hour
Abdiel Flores-Mata, 35, of the first block of Hawthorne Drive in La Grange, posted bail and was released from custody after she was arrested for driving without a license following a traffic stop police initiated because she was driving with one headlight. About an hour later, the same officer who made the first arrest observed Flores-Mata driving in Countryside and arrested her again. She posted $150 bail and was released.
Beer bottle thrown at car
Someone threw a beer bottle at a parked vehicle in a driveway in the 5700 block of Kensington Avenue between 11 p.m. July 5 and 2 p.m. July 6, a resident at the house reported. Police found several pieces of broken glass, which appeared to have a Miller High Life label on it.
Two vehicles damaged at car dealer
Two 2014 model vehicles at Autobarn Subaru, 6191 Joliet Road, were scratched sometime between 7:30 p.m. June 29 and July 1. The sales manager estimated the damage at $3,500.
Driving without license
• Nancy Torres, 39, of the 2800 block of Austin Boulevard, Cicero, was charged with driving without a license after police observed that a passenger in her vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt. Torres was pulled over at 55th Street and East Avenue at 5:21 p.m. July 1.
• Michael McCracken, 56, of the 6500 block of Kimball Avenue, Hodgkins, was charged with driving without a license after police pulled him over in the 9600 block of 55th Street at 4:02 p.m. July 1 because he was not wearing a seat belt.
• Silvia Munoz, 31, of the 1700 block of W. 35th St., Chicago, was charged with driving without a license at midnight July 7 at Joliet and La Grange Roads after police observed her driving with one headlight.
Possession of hypodermic needles
Ryan E. Malik, 24, of the 6300 block of Joliet Road, was charged with possession of hypodermic needles July 7.
A black 1986 Chevrolet Corvette was stolen from a parking lot in the 10200 block of Fifth Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. July 7.
Bottle rocket breaks window
A bottle rocket firework broke the outer pane of a window and frame on a house in the 6900 block of Sunset Avenue, the house’s owner reported at 5:50 p.m. July 5.
Krista Clark, 24, of Fairview, Texas, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after she was stopped for driving with an expired registration at 1:05 a.m. July 1 in the 1200 block of Mannheim Road.
Anthony Jones, 46, of the 4800 block of South Wolcott Avenue, Chicago, was charged with retail theft for stealing batteries from the Walgreen’s at 10345 Roosevelt Road.
Sewer covers stolen
Four village sewer covers were stolen from the side of the road in the 1900 block of Hull Avenue, a resident reported at 7:04 p.m. July 2.
Patio table and chairs stolen
An iron patio table and five chairs were stolen from the back of a business in the 1900 block of Mannheim Road, an employee reported at 10:11 a.m. July 1.
Digital tablet stolen at grocery store
A Barnes & Noble Nook tablet was stolen from a shopper at the Dominick’s at 3020 Wolf Road, the shopper reported at 7:25 p.m. July 4.
Jewelry stolen from house
A resident in the 1900 block of Norfolk Avenue said someone forced entry into her residence and stole jewelry between 1:30 p.m. July 1 and 12:30 a.m. July 2.
