CAROL STREAM – The Carol Stream Police Department Traffic Safety Unit will be on the bike path from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 3 at Lies and Kuhn roads to educate cyclists and pedestrians about traffic laws.

Bicyclists can also register their bikes with the police department. Those who register can have their bikes tracked if they are ever stolen or lost. Helmets will also be given away, courtesy of Safe Kids Chicago.

The department's Labor Day campaign will run from Aug. 16 through Sept. 2, during which another road side safety checkpoint will be held Aug. 30.
