Judge recognized for work on family violence issues

An Illinois circuit judge was recognized for his commitment to addressing family violence issues, according to a news release from the office of the Chief Judge.

Robert J. Anderson of the 18th Judicial Court received the Justice Benjamin K. Miller Recognition Award, which honors outstanding members of the community and judiciary in the prevention of family violence. Anderson won due to his leadership during the June 27 Illinois Family Violence Coordinating Council meeting in Springfield.

Four other judges were also recognized for their work: Judge Kathy Bradshaw-Elliot, 21st Circuit; Judge Michael Brand, 10th Circuit; Judge F. Keith Brown, 16th Circuit; and Judge Carla Alessio Policondriotis, 12th Circuit.
