Elmhurst Irish dancer wins national championship

ELMHURST – A group of local Irish dancers proved their talents at a recent national competition.

Elmhurst's Mullane Healy Godley Irish Dance Academy students brought home three first place titles from the North American National Championships in Anaheim, Calif. Emma Smith was brought to tears when she was named the the Girls Under 11 champion.

Mullane Healy Godley students also took first place in the Girls Under 13 and Under 16 Figure Choreography. Other dancers from the academy came in second in the Girls Under 12, Boys Under 16 and Senior Men categories.
