St. Isidore seeks volunteer English tutors

BLOOMINGDALE – St. Isidore Parish is seeking volunteers to tutor non-English speaking adults as part of its English as a Second Language Program. No previous teaching experience is required to participate.

Each tutor will be assigned one student to teach. Tutors do not need to speak the student's first language. All educational materials will be provided.

Tutor orientation will be held 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Church Large Group Meeting Room at St. Isidore Church, 427 W. Army Trail Road in Bloomingdale. A second orientation will be held 6:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at People's Resource Center in Wheaton. Tutors must commit to the program through May 15.

Volunteers can take part in the program 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the LINK, near the Bloomingdale Taco Bell or 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at St. Isidore School.
