ROMEOVILLE – The Southwest Suburban Immigrant Project will host the “Day of the Immigrant” from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 20 at Deer Crossing Park, 1050 W. Romeo Road.

A cultural entertainment exposition and resource fair, Day of the Immigrant strives to strengthen the voices of the southwest suburban immigrant community and raise awareness for immigration reform.

Centering around the theme, “sharing our American Dream,” the event will showcase a series of speeches from local dignitaries, as well as testimonials from immigrant families. There will also be a wide range of music and dance performances, and a viewing of the film “A Better Life.”

Additionally, the event will include booths from sponsors, food and drink tents, games, raffles and other activities.

Southwest Suburban Immigrant Project is currently accepting “Day of the Immigrant” sponsor and vendor applications.
